The Barcelona Chair by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe



The Barcelona Chair is designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. This 20th century modernist furniture design has steadily gained in appeal and status since its introduction at the 1929 International Exhibition in Barcelona. Heavy cowhide straps tautly support the cushions. The chromed steel frame is hand buffed to mirror-like perfection. The chair and stool cushions-welting and buttons included-come from a single Spinneybeck® cowhide. To create the deep, precise tufting, individual panels of leather are cut, hand welted and hand tufted. Frame is made in Italy, cushions are made in U.S.A.
Each piece is stamped with the KnollStudio logo and the designer’s signature. The Barcelona Chair is a registered trademark of Knoll, Inc., manufactured by Knoll according to the original and exacting specifications of the designer.
