Balmain ≈ Balenciaga?

Is this another case of a brand copying another? I don't think so. The first one is the Balenciaga AW11 Quilted Biker Jacket while the other is a leather jacket from the upcoming Balmain SS12 collection. Both jackets do have some similarities but aren't these the only few things you can add? Quilted leather patches on the elbow, zippers on the front and sleeves? Ever since i bought my Dior Homme SS07 Leather Jacket, i have always wanted another one with a quilted design. Should i waited for the Balmain?

This Balenciaga leather biker jacket has now become a classic item where different variations will be available every season. For S/S10, apart from the usual colours, Balenciaga came up with 3 new colours. The 3 new colours belong to the Stardust series which is a online Exclusive Limited Edition. The design of all Stardust jackets is exactly the same as the regular series except that it is made of shiny calfskin. Being a french brand, Balenciaga continues to make their leather jacket in France instead of Italy. Balenciaga SS10 Sneakers

Here are some pictures of a navy version of the SS10 sneakers. I think the colour combination is kind of odd, especially the navy vulcanized rubber sole. This is simply too blue. I would prefer the grey and brown version that is found on the website. Hmmm...i'm wondering what other colours are there...
