(Stretched Wool Jacket with metal pins €1600, Graphic T-shirt with tiger and wing design €340, Light cotton canvas Cargo Shorts with two side pockets €730, Laced calfskin boots with zippers on the side €830. All from Balmain Homme)
Because you've helped me A LOT with advising me on the khaki jeans lately (you were right: 2 sizes down wasn't a problem), I would really appreciate your advice on a shirt from the SS2011 collection. It's the shirt carrying a badge (NOT the one from the SS2009 collection which was way oversized). MrPorter says "Small to size; take two sizes up"). However, Aloharag gives an example of a 6'11" (185 cm) model wearing size 39! Do you have any idea? I am 178cm, 55 kg and usually wear size 38. So far I have bought 2 pairs of jeans, a shirt and a t-shirt from Balmain but sizing is a nightmare.
if i remember correctly, you were telling me that you wear 34 for Dior Homme jeans. How is that possible when you are 178cm tall and weights 55kg? Isn't 34 too big for you?
As for the shirt, i think you should stick to 38. Shirts sizing won't change much, its only the cutting or style.
Sorry for the delay: I couldn't find the post back!
Meanwhile I have bought the SS2011 military shirt. It runs small. I bought a 39 and it fits like a glove (I usually wear 38). Last year, I bought the blue military shirt, size 38, and it came much too big. Balmain's size is even worse than Dior Homme's and Balenciaga's (with regards to the latter, at least you know they ALWAYS run small).
No, when it comes to jeans I wear 29-30. The Balmain khaki jeans -from the SS2010- I bought are just fine: I bought a size 28, paid 2000 € for it (incl. shipping & taxes) without knowing whether they would fit or not; God, was I nervous when I tried them on!

So sad they only have size 48 for the blazer...
