He clearly has moved past Dior. He barely wears anything from the old collections these days. His new style seems to be closer to the alt rock scene in the U.S. Could this be a hint of what a new men's collection from him would look like?

Yes. I noticed that too. His jacket is not DH, his pants, belt and shoes are not DH...i wonder what will his new label be...

I think that his new line will show deep american influences in the same way that the later years of Dior showed an admiration for the English Rock scene. Not only does his style of dressing resemble alt rock, but also, a lot of his more recent photography has been concerned with iconic americana. I.E. Guys holding U.S. flags, football helmets, football gear, the grave of Marilyn Monroe, 50's cars, and early Ramones style punk. But who knows, maybe he will be over these influences by the time the new line comes out (which I fear won't be any time soon.)

Yes. Its true. Most importantly, he should start his own label soon...or else he will be losing his fans/supporters...I hope his new collection (if there is) will be good.

Well, I think there is small (but real chance) that he may lose some supporters, but as soon as he came up with a new line, people would be interested again. It's a little like what happened with Tom Ford back in 2004. It took him three years to make a comeback, and he has never really returned to the runways (not that I'm a fan of his, but a lot of people are, so in that sense he is comparable to Hedi). I think that chances are that Hedi is also going to try to put some distance between what he did in Dior and what he will do next. He is already dressing different. Maybe he is waiting for a new moment in fashion to capitalize on?

I do agree but i think he has already lost some supporters...especially those who were already disappointed with his last few collections. He should actually distance himself away from Dior, the aesthetic in old Dior Homme is history...he should try out new things, new feel, new style and definitely new aesthetic. I sincerely hope his new collection will be really good...hope he fascinate us again

I almost feel bad for him in a way because he has such a legacy to live up to. I think of Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine) and how he has avoided creating a follow-up to Loveless. It's super hard (impossible??) to live up to expectations like that...

well...maybe his creativity has shifted towards a different style and this is the reason why his designs are so different from 2004

does anyone know which collection/brand the leather jacket is from the picture?

Monsieur AG said...

i am quite sure that the leather jacket is not from Dior Homme.

looks like a regular biker jacket to me. It may very well be a Balenciaga biker jacket that was available about a year ago. It is definitely not dior homme

i think i know which Balenciaga jacket you are talking about. I was thinking of getting it at that time. Do you have more pictures of it?

No. I remember it was offered in Diabro but that's it. I also thought of getting it back then. But I actually don't think that's Hedi's jacket. Come to think of it, its probably a really old vintage leather jacket. Looking at the distressing of the leather, it reminds me of a jacket I have that is almost 30 years old.

Yes. Thats where i saw it too. I regret not buying it at that time. The design was really nice in my opinion.

The jacket that Hedi was wearing in the pic was probably a vintage jacket.
